What would you like other microfinance-interested people to know about you?
I have an MBA with International Business certificate from the University of Washington with a focus on Emerging Markets. I worked in Panama with USAID as a business adviser. I built and now work in the administration of a drug donation program on behalf of a large Swiss pharmaceutical company. We have over 25,000 patients around the world and we work in most developing countries. I currently work with India and Pakistan. In addition to patient caseload work, I also do the busines process mapping and design/test/training/upgrades of IT tools for the program.
I am active with the World Affairs Council of Seattle.
I am fluent in Spanish.

In a few words, please describe your interest in microfinance.
I learned about it in the mid-90's while in business school and have been reading about, attending lectures and trying to keep up on trends since then. I would one day like to move my career focus to this area. I would like to meet the people working in this arena to better understand how I can most effectively have an impact.

Welcome Charlene! Emerging Markets, drug donation programs, and case management in developing countries...all interesting aspects of work to elevate status of the poor which microfinance would seek as well.
